Who we are:
We use design to map, illustrate and translate complex ideas and data flows into clean, simple and kick-ass visuals. Designers here play a direct role in both improving the understanding of the issues we tackle and increasing the impact we have around the world. We also contribute to building the company’s brand through our values and strategic input.
Circle Economy is a rapidly growing international social enterprise, supporting cities and businesses in developing practical and scalable solutions to accelerate the transition to the circular economy. We conduct trailblazing research on topics such as climate change, circular jobs creation and societal impact. Through dedicated programmes, scans, digital tools and workshops we share our knowledge to accelerate a circular change.
We’re a young team of driven and ambitious professionals, working in a lively and dynamic office at the Tropen museum in Amsterdam. We like to have fun while we work and have a culture of getting things done.

Project and role:
In this position, you will work under the supervision of the Design Lead of Circle Economy, joining a team of 3 full-time designers and another design intern. Your role will be to work closely with the Cities team on the "Thriving Cities" project. This initiative is based on an innovative approach to agenda and policy-setting for cities around the world. The goal is to co-create the future of cities along with the city officials themselves, based on the principles of the Doughnut Economics model, developed by Kate Raworth, who is also closely involved in this project.

What we offer
A paid internship for 5 days a week for a period of 6 months, to start in January 2019. We offer a stipend of €400 per month for Master’s level based on full-time employment and can provide a travel stipend if necessary. We offer a challenge for a passionate person that loves to learn and take on responsibilities in a vibrant and talented team, in a pioneering organisation. The opportunity to grow an in-depth insight and knowledge on the topic of circular cities.
You’ll be embedded into our charismatic in-house Design team of four. We offer a challenge for a passionate person that loves to learn and take up responsibilities in a demanding and dynamic environment. We will coach you to put your skills and ideas to work.
