Finance Programme Intern

Job description

6 months Finance Programme Internship, Amsterdam, part-time (24 - 32 hours/week tba)

Start Date: February 2021

Circle Economy is looking for an enthusiastic intern who wants to apply his/her affinity with finance, accounting, policy, and circularity. You are an independent spirit who has great writing skills and is keen to support our mission to improve the financeability of circular business models and guide investments towards circular solutions.

Finance is the enabler to increase the transition to a circular economy. Enterprises launching a circular business enter a pioneering space in the economic sector. A novelty for markets and investors. The relative absence of knowledge of the factors driving financeability and the lack of a track record of circular business models together with uncertain consumer demand have hindered the progress of new circular business models. Are you up for this challenge?

You will be assisting the Circle Finance Programme team in several projects, with the main focus on the Coalition Circular Accounting (CCA). This coalition brings knowledge partners together to co-create solutions in overcoming the barriers to transition from a linear to a circular economy. In order to better reflect the financial reality of circular companies, it is vital to adjust existing economic principles and reporting rules.

Circle Economy is a young team of 50+ driven and ambitious professionals from more than 20 different countries, sharing the belief that the circular economy creates prosperity for all. We have a culture of getting things done while having fun, and apart from friendly and open team dynamics. We work in a lively and dynamic atmosphere in our open office space right in the heart of Amsterdam, however due to these exceptional times, the Circle Economy team is following the national guidelines and will be working from home if required.
