ORGANISATION

Founded in 2011 in Amsterdam, Circle Economy Foundation currently has 50 members, consisting of NGOs and businesses. There is a 2 tier board. Important funding sources include trust & foundations, as well as public and private revenue.

Our team consists of 50 employees from 25 different nationalities. We are represented by diverse academic backgrounds and career experiences. We have an inspiring supervisory board and are led by an experienced management team.

YOUR ROLE

You will be responsible for, and be able to independently execute the following:

  • Ensuring that the management team and organisation are aware of financial oversights by reporting on financial status, developing and maintaining forecasts; reporting results and managing reporting process; analysing variances; developing and implementing improvements. This includes:
    • Managing day to day processing of accounts receivable and payable using Exact Online, producing reports as requested.

    • Monitoring and communicating cash balances and cash forecasts

    • Monitoring and communicating financial performance by measuring and analysing results; initiating corrective actions; minimising the impact of variances.

  • Producing monthly results, by entering timesheets data in the financial administration.

  • Lead the budget and forecast creation, implementation and analysis process. Includes:
    • Driving forward the yearly budget creation process, ensuring timeline delivery of budget and proper reporting

    • Ensuring projects have budgets and are financially monitored and reported upon

  • Manage the great diversity of revenue streams and its specific properties
    • Earmarking of funds

    • (financial) Reporting cycles

    • Schedule invoicing

  • Remaining up to date on relevant financial and legal regulations

  • Fiscal management

  • Leading process for annual audit (annual accounts) of finances

  • Developing, implementing and monitoring reliable control systems
    • Checks and balances, proposal and contract review, etc

Governance

  • Support in Board preparation and management

  • Supporting in creation and implementation of proper governance controls



Requirements

YOUR PROFILE

  • You will probably have at least 5 years of relevant work experience; You are precise, social, creative, energetic, flexible and have a strong urge to organise your own work in a smarter way.

  • You like to make processes as efficient as possible and you can communicate this effectively within the team. Both by performing it yourself and by involving colleagues in it.

  • Preferably you have experience with project organisations.

  • Of course you are passionate about generating and analysing data

  • You are a self­-starter (proactive and independent) and you know how to prioritise different assignments and tasks to meet deadlines

  • EU grant management experience is very welcome

  • You are fluent in Dutch and English.

For this role, we are offering an initial 1-year contract for 24-32 hours per week (over at least 4 days), which may be extended depending on performance and funding opportunities.
