Circle Economy also conducts trailblazing research on topics such as climate change, circular jobs creation and societal impact of the circular economy.

Your role in the Circle Economy team

As Communications Manager (mid-career position), your role is to implement the global marketing and communications strategy that drives the dissemination, knowledge, appreciation, and adoption of Circle Economy's mission and activities and accelerate its impact. You will work closely together with the Digital Marketing Officer, three in-house graphic designers and all of Circle Economy's business unit. You will report directly to our CEO.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Establish, own and drive a strategic internal and external communications strategy that positively affects employees’, external stakeholders’ and public understanding, engagement and commitment with the result of an even stronger connection to Circle Economy and that leads to the adoption of its mission, activities and services
  • Build the visibility of the organisation's brand image and expand the reach of Circle Economy's core messages
  • Development and execution of global, mainly digital, marketing communications initiatives including product launches, proposal collaterals, campaigns, socials and networks presence, company website, public relations, internal communication, regulatory communications and company events
  • Partner with cross-functional internal teams to build compelling content and ensure new communication campaigns and programs are aimed at reaching programme development targets.
  • Initiate and manage press relations and press coverage
  • Organise internal and external events and speaking opportunities
  • Support the creation of basic communications and marketing materials for all programmes, tools, and services
  • Create and edit content throughout all of Circle Economy's marketing channels
  • Manage analytics and Adwords and incorporate learnings into Circle Economy's communications and marketing strategy


Requirements

Skills and Competencies

  • Master's degree in communications, journalism, marketing or business-related field
  • Minimum of 6 years experience in marketing communications, preferably in sustainability or social/environmental impact driven sector
  • You have experience building and maintaining relationships with local and international press outlets
  • You have proven experience developing and maintaining communications and marketing materials and online content
  • Demonstrated creative and critical thinking skills
  • Strong business analytics, relationship management, strategy development, project management, problem-solving and change management skills
  • Excellent communicator with the ability to influence and persuade across all levels of the organisation.
  • You can strategically make decisions on when and where to promote a brand through events and speaking opportunities
  • You are a networker who likes to connect with others to create new partnerships and collaborations
  • You fluent in English (oral and written). Dutch is a pre


What we offer you

For this role, we are offering an initial 6-month contract for 32-40 hours per week as a maternity leave cover. We offer an awesome challenge for a passionate person that loves to continuously learn and take up responsibilities in a vibrant and talented team. Salary is competitive, keeping in mind we are a non­profit, start­up organization, based in Amsterdam and, depending on experience, will range between €2800 - €3600 gross, based on a 40-hour contract.
